Senior Vice President of CTLC Announces Retirement

Covington, LA – CGB Enterprises, Inc. (CGB), a leader in the grain and transportation industries since 1969, announced Scott Leininger, Senior Vice President of CTLC, Marine & Transportation, plans to retire on May 31, 2022 and Lance Rase will succeed him as Senior Vice President effective June 1, 2022.

Scott Leininger began his career with CGB in 1995 and has more than 40 years of experience in the grain, transportation, marine, and logistics industries. In his current role, Scott has very successfully navigated the oversight of CGB’s inland terminals, logistical solutions, gulf stevedoring and fleeting operations, trucking, marine, charter barges, critical relationship development with key customers, barge lines, and many others.

In addition to his vast experience, Scott has represented CGB in an exemplary manner as a Waterways Council Executive Board Member, has served on the Inland Waterways Users Board and chaired NGFA’s Waterborne Commerce Committee. Scott has had a tremendous influence in these capacities, including being very involved in the industry’s river infrastructure investments that include the Army Corps of Engineers for Lock and Dam improvements, critical to our businesses on the Upper Miss River.

Lance Rase, current Vice President of CTLC, Marine and Transportation, will assume the role of Senior Vice President, Marine and Terminals, upon Scott’s retirement. He’s been with the CGB family for nearly 26 years, beginning his career as a dispatcher in Cairo, IL and holding various roles since including logistics manager, freight trader, and general manager, among others. In 2019, Lance was promoted to his current role overseeing CTLC, Marine and Transportation.

In addition to Lance’s professional experience, he’s an Executive Board Member of the Waterways Council and Board Member of the Inland Waterways Users Board.

“NGFA is grateful for the contributions of Scott Leininger and his more than 40 years of experience in grain transportation logistics. For the past five years Scott chaired NGFA’s Waterborne Commerce Committee, and much of the recent policy success our industry has experienced, including increased funding and expedited modernization of U.S. locks and dams, can be traced to his leadership,” Seyfert added. “We congratulate Scott on his retirement and are excited to work with Lance Rase in his new, well-deserved role as Senior Vice President, Marine and Terminals.”
