Executive Team Promotions at CGB

CGB held their quarterly board meeting at the end of May and concluded the meeting with four significant promotions to the CGB Executive Leadership team.

Tom Malecha
Tom Malecha, our Senior Vice President of Soybean Processing and President of North Dakota Soybean Processors, LLC, has been elected to the role of Executive Vice President of CGB Enterprises, Inc. With over 37 years of experience, Tom has led strategy and operations in Mount Vernon as well as the significant development, construction, public relations, HR, and marketing efforts involved with the new NDSP plant in Casselton. Tom’s strategic vision and operational excellence have led to the creation of a real processing division, growing from the single facility model at Mt. Vernon that we’ve enjoyed for nearly 30 years. During his tenure, he has also helped orchestrate two record years in the history of CGB’s Soybean Processing division.
In the role of Executive Vice President, Tom serves as second in command. He will continue to lead, develop, and grow our processing division, lead strategic initiatives for growth initiatives in our value-added sectors, and contribute at the executive level to significant company initiatives.

Gus Gelpi
Gus Gelpi has been promoted to Chief Information Officer (CIO) and SVP. Gus has spent over 25 years in senior leadership positions in IT and for the past 10 years has led our IT department – comprised of 80 employees, all business units, 2100 IT users, and 127 locations. Gus is known for his devotion to developing people at all stages of their career. His work to align IT with business strategies has enabled CGB to enjoy significant business growth, increased efficiencies, and overall profitability.

Joe Barnett
Joe Barnett has contributed greatly to CGB’s focus on fiscal excellence and strategy in his role as Corporate Controller since 2012. With over 20 years in accounting and auditing, Joe has been promoted to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and SVP. A great leader, Joe regularly speaks to our leadership groups and is an active presenter at CGB’s leadership training programs. Prior to CGB, Joe mastered his auditing acumen as a Senior Manager for KPMG for 12 years.

Kaleb Belzer
Kaleb Belzer is our Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and SVP. For over two decades, Kaleb was instrumental in the global growth and development of Bunge, leading asset teams in Europe and North America through M&A, capital project development and financing initiatives, strategic planning, risk management and new business platform strategies. Kaleb’s appointment marks a significant milestone in our CGB growth plan. His business development savvy and operational expertise is set to play a pivotal role in steering CGB towards a prosperous future.
