Employee Health & Safety

Sustainability isn’t just about what is done, but how it gets done. An organization cannot be sustainable without protecting the health and safety of its team.

CGB holds annual biometric screenings as part of its health and wellness initiative for team members. These screenings establish a health baseline that can be used to evaluate risk for a variety of health issues, many of which can be prevented through early detection and lifestyle changes. Employees are also provided with a vast library of resources to help manage everything from health and physical fitness, to mental wellness.

As an industry leader in safety, we are proud of our focus on safe practices and working conditions through a company derived program called “Journey to Excellence.” In addition to this incredible program, we comply with all OSHA requirements, both state and federal, and conduct frequent internal audits. Our safety motto: We do the right thing, the right way, all the time.

Developing Our Team

We believe in sharing knowledge, expertise and best practices for the benefit of others, and enriching the communities in which we all live and work! Within CGB, we are committed to developing our team and have solid educational programs such as Lead Retain Grow, our women specific leadership and development program, and Leadership Foundations, a program within CGB Learning Solutions aimed specifically at developing leaders within our organization.

Educating & Supporting Others

Our leaders infiltrate local communities in places like 4-H, trade shows, local schools, safety demonstrations with local fire departments, non-profit organizations, and more. We’re active members or sponsors in many charitable organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and Living Lands and Waters, just to name a few.

Our Safety Mindset

We do the right thing, the right way, all the time. Our incident ratio remains industry leading and we are so proud of our commitment to safety; the importance of adhering to our program and protocols is felt throughout the organization and we all have personal accountability for ensuring we adhere to our motto. Safety is everyone's responsibility, and we all take great pride in taking care of one another.

We Prepare Our Organization for the Future

Change happens quickly. A solid succession plan is critical, as part of organizational sustainability, to ensure the company always has the right leaders in place should a serious illness, disaster, or any unexpected event strike. CGB maintains a solid succession plan and revisits frequently with leaders to ensure it’s always applicable. Our plan includes:

  • Identifying those positions most critical to the future success of the company.
  • Identifying internal candidates with the values, skills and desire to take on these critical functions.
  • Frequent conversations with team members about interests and career plans.
