CGB Announces First Director of Sustainability

Covington, LA (September 7, 2021) – CGB Enterprises, Inc. (CGB) is pleased to announce Ellie Murphy as its first appointed Director of Sustainability and Food Safety. Ellie will lead the company’s sustainability program, including related objectives, goals and strategies, for organization-wide efforts across its multiple business units in the agriculture and transportation space.

“This new role is an important milestone for CGB, as we seek to enhance our sustainability efforts. Creating this position clearly demonstrates our commitment to this objective. Ellie’s focus will include building out CGB’s first tactical sustainability plan while prioritizing the ESG goals of upstream customers,” said Kevin Adams, President & CEO, CGB Enterprises, Inc.

“We are interested in understanding how we might become more competitive by creatively introducing elements of advanced operational efficiency to our facilities, harnessing those benefits at scale,” Ellie said of the company’s forward-looking approach and impending strategy. “Our ultimate objective is to shift the culture from ‘doing things differently’ to ‘doing different things.’ This will provide the most value to our stakeholders, employees, farmer-producers, and communities in which we operate.”

Ellie has held numerous roles of increasing responsibility within agribusiness, regulatory compliance, and sustainability. Most recently, she worked for Marathon Petroleum Corporation where she participated in and led various sustainability efforts across the Logistics and Storage component. Ellie graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering and later earned a Master’s in Urban Sustainability and Resilience from Xavier University. She is currently a candidate in Ohio State’s Master’s of Applied Economics Program.
